What is the Neon Snake game?
The snake game is the oldest reflex loop in gaming — eat, grow, avoid yourself — and it has survived every hardware generation since the arcade era because the panic still works. Neon Snake is our tribute: same immortal rules, dressed in glow, particles and screen shake, with wrap-around walls (edges teleport you to the other side) and a speed curve that never stops climbing. Every 5 dots, it gets faster. Forever. Free in your browser with keyboard, swipe or on-screen d-pad.
How to play
Steer with the arrow keys / WASD, swipe, or use the on-screen d-pad on mobile. Eat the pink dots to grow — every 5 dots the snake speeds up. Walls wrap around (yes, you can tunnel through edges), but bite your own tail and it's over. Simple rules, rising panic: that's why snake never dies.
Tips & tricks
- Hug the edges early and use wall-wrap as a planned escape route, not a lucky accident.
- Turn in wide S-curves at high speed — tight zigzags are how tails get bitten.
- Lead the food: aim where your head will be in three moves, not where the dot is.
- Playing at school? The same snake game engine lives on our snake unblocked page — shared best score.
FAQ
What are the controls on mobile?
Swipe anywhere on the board, or use the on-screen d-pad below the game. On desktop it's arrow keys or WASD.
Why did I die when I hit the wall — or didn't?
Walls here wrap around: exit the right edge, reappear on the left. The only thing that kills you is your own tail, which gets harder to avoid as you grow.
Does the snake ever stop speeding up?
No. Every 5 dots adds speed, forever. Past score 30 it's less a game and more a lifestyle.
