Reaction Time Test — How Fast Are Your Reflexes?
Reflex testFreeF1 lights mode 🏎️Spacebar works
How to play
Classic: the box turns red — wait. The instant it flips green, click (or smash Space). Click too early and the round restarts; the marmot judges you. You get 5 rounds and your average decides your rank on the speed bar.
F1 Lights: just like a Formula 1 race start — five red lights come on one by one, hold at full red, then go dark at a random moment. React to lights out. Jump starts are penalized, Verstappen.
For reference: the median human reaction time to a visual cue is about 273 milliseconds. Under 200 ms is elite territory — and if you're consistently under 150, close this tab and go get scouted by an esports team.
FAQ
What's a good reaction time?
The human median for a visual cue is about 273 ms. Under 250 ms is quick, under 200 ms is elite, and under 150 ms consistently means your monitor's refresh rate is doing some of the work.
Does my screen or mouse affect the result?
Yes, a little: a 60 Hz display, a laggy mouse or a TV in 'cinema mode' can add 20-50 ms. For fair friend-battles, compare on similar setups.
What's different about F1 mode?
Classic mode reacts to a color change; F1 mode recreates a race start — five red lights, a random hold, then lights out. The random hold is what catches jumpy fingers.
